ViewMax is Modcomp's integration server. It has been deployed in many situations and has been tried and tested at leading UK companies.
Using our own Screen Scraping technology, ViewMax allows you to provide access to your character based (green screen) legacy applications. Moreover, ViewMax can also access systems, such as SAP, which have published interfaces. ViewMax provides access to your legacy and back office systems from your new business applications, or from the web. It allows one application to communicate directly with another and it allows you to connect your applications to other middleware technologies, such as IBM WebSphere, Microsoft .NET Framework or J2EE application servers.

ViewMaxJCA
ViewMaxJCA provides a J2EE Connector Architecture (JCA) extension to ViewMax enabling J2EE developers to integrate new applications with existing legacy systems. ViewMaxJCA connects to application servers such as BEA WebLogic, IBM WebSphere and JBoss.
ViewMax.NET
ViewMax.NET provides integration from ViewMax to the .NET Framework architecture. ViewMax.NET can act as an adaptor between older legacy applications and systems and Microsoft’s .NET Middleware technology.
ViewMax Rapid Application Development Environment
The ViewMax Configuration Tool is a rapid application development environment. This tool is used to define the menu structure for host navigation and to build standard HTML pages, which can then be edited and enhanced using a web authoring package to include graphics, sound, video, animation as well as other multimedia. When development is complete, these pages will reside on the web server and call the ViewMax Server.
ViewMax Connectors
ViewMax connects to a broad range of host systems using terminal interfaces: DEC VT100-420, IBM 3270, 5250, as well as HP, Tandem, ICL, Stratus, Viewdata. ViewMax has optional interface plug-ins for host system application interfaces: ODBC, OLE, SQL, and messaging protocols LU6.2, EDI, e-mail etc. ViewMax OLE is used to access departmental servers to examine or update data held within MS Excel, Access or any other OLE compatible application.
Security
ViewMax was designed with security and protection in mind. Beginning with user log-on and authentication, only authorised users can access systems via ViewMax. Normal legacy log-on can be used for a second layer of authorisation and tracking.
ViewMax accesses the host system applications on behalf of the remote client – it acts as a proxy server where no direct access is permitted. This means that users never obtain access to a system prompt, they can only access, interact and transact with the pre-determined web pages, information, and forms.
