Welcome Financial Services has been growing at a rate of between 10 and 20 per cent year on year. 1500 staff at the company’s branches and central call centre were using an Oracle application processing system (APS) to register loan requests. The system was slow because the credit checking process was inefficient and this was impacting business as customers had to wait for loan applications to be processed.
Modcomp provided a bespoke gateway application to connect the Oracle APS system with the 3rd party mainframe credit checking application. Within 4 months Modcomp’s technology was ready to be installed on site, and after successful tests, it went live less than 6 months after the project started. Performance and capacity improved leading to a 10 fold increase in volumes of load requests being handled.
