The UK's biggest magazine distribution company chooses Modcomp to implement its new Accounts Payable system

06 Oct 2009

Frontline, the UK's leading magazine distribution company, has chosen Modcomp to install and configure an Accounts Payable system based on the OnBase Enterprise Content Management system.

Formed in June 1986 by magazine publisher Emap (now Bauer Media), Frontline is Britain's leading magazine distribution company.   Joined by Haymarket Publishing (now Haymarket Media Group) in 1988 followed two years later by BBC Enterprises (later renamed BBC Worldwide), and H Bauer Publishing in January 2005, Frontline today distributes such household names as Radio Times, Heat Magazine, and TV Choice.

Frontline handles many hundreds of publications, and markets these to over 55,000 retailers throughout the UK and Eire, from the biggest supermarkets through to the specialist newsagents and small independent shops.  In total Frontline is responsible for the distribution of over 8 million copies per week.  With this number of outlets and the volumes that Frontline handle, monthly invoicing and reporting is a major undertaking.

Frontline is committed to keeping the cost of distribution to a mimimum.  Therefore it is important for the company that 'back office' processes like Accounts Payable are as efficient and effective as possible.

With this in mind, Frontline has recently engaged Modcomp to assist in the implementation of system to support the Accounts Payable process.  Modcomp will deploy the OnBase Enterprise Content Management solution.  Installed in over 8,000 companies world wide, OnBase is a modular, cost effective, document and content management system.
