Modcomp successfully delivers eASpire System for NCH

The system based on Microsoft technology will benefit some of the UK’s most vulnerable children
NCH was founded in 1869 and is now the one of the UK’s largest children’s charities. NCH supports some of the UK's most vulnerable and excluded children and young people.
E-ASPIRE
In 2002 NCH commenced work to develop a consistent service delivery process within NCH’s Children’s Services directorate. This work stemmed from the need to:
- Introduce a service delivery process to support safe and effective practice.
- Ensure NCH delivers services which meet relevant targets through the development of an evidence base to monitor the service delivery process and outcomes for children and young people.
- Integrate the principles of the Assessment Framework and the Integrated Children’s Systems into NCH’s work.
- Create better quality management information.
- Respond to pressure from the market place.
The NCH ASPIRE (Assessment, Planning, Intervention and Review) service delivery model was established.
In order to achieve the full benefits of the ASPIRE process, a software application was needed to support the process. Competing against other leading IT Software companies, Modcomp won the contract to develop e-ASPIRE.
Modcomp based the system on the Microsoft .Net Framework and SQL Server database technology. Once live, the system will be used by almost 6000 project workers across the NCH, making it one of the most heavily used .Net applications in the country. Performance therefore is important, and Modcomp and NCH worked closely to ensure that the system will meet the demands of all users across NCH.
e-ASPIRE has been described as one of the most important systems projects for NCH in the last 30 years, and Modcomp is proud to have been part of this landmark project.
