Modcomp is an international company based in Wokingham, Berkshire. The company was originally established in the UK in the mid 70’s as the sales and service organisation for Modcomp Inc of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA. Later we introduced a manufacturing capability as well. Modcomp Inc supplied high performance process control and data acquisition (PCDA) computers running the Modcomp operating system called Real/IX. Today, we have a team of people who support the Modcomp computers that are still providing excellent and reliable service at, for example, Rolls Royce plc, Holset Turbochargers and a number of Power Stations in Europe.
In 1997 Modcomp established a systems integration business in the UK. Specialising in integration applications, Modcomp developed its own suite of integration software called ViewMax. As the World Wide Web continued to flourish, and companies saw the potential for eCommerce, Modcomp found that our skills and capabilities in providing web to back office system integration were much in demand. In particular, in the travel sector, many well established holiday companies came under pressure from up-start web based holiday vendors. Modcomp helped some of the leading household names in the travel sector to get on to the web and start selling holidays via the internet. Over the last 10 years, many millions of pounds worth of holidays have been sold using Modcomp software.
As a provider of cost effective, leading edge technology solutions, Modcomp is always tracking developments from providers of best of breed software. In early 2003 it became increasingly clear that Microsoft’s integration and business application solutions were now more than a match for traditional and often more expensive software. Modcomp therefore set-out to build-up our Microsoft skills.
Since 2003 we have built a team of certified Microsoft Professionals and achieved Microsoft Gold Certified Partnership status. We were one of the first companies to achieve the certification with a special competency in Custom Developed Solutions. To achieve our gold certified partnership status Modcomp had to demonstrate the expertise of our developers and had to provide to Microsoft names of reference customers who could verify that Modcomp had designed and built strong, reliable and cost effective business applications using Microsoft software. Each reference had to provide a testimonial direct to Microsoft which was actively checked.
Modcomp are continuing to build our Microsoft capability. We now offer solutions based .NET 3.5, on the latest version of SQL Server 2008, on Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 and on BizTalk 2006 v2.
Today Modcomp has offices in Cologne, Germany and Fort Lauderdale, USA. We are part of the CSP Inc orgnisation. CSP is a public company listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange with revenues of $75m.
